“Timely distribution of milk, eggs and Balaamrutham, along with continuous monitoring, has helped reduce stunting and underweight cases among children below five years.”

Vijayawada: Finance secretary Ronald Rose has said Andhra Pradesh secured Rs 11,465 crore out of Rs 15,031 crore allocated under central schemes during 2025-26. However, Rs 5,051 crore lapsed due to delayed sanctions, low utilisation and rejected bills.
The Konaseema and West Godavari districts recorded 99 per cent fund utilisation, he said at the seventh collectors’ conference on Friday.
Another revelation was that Andhra Pradesh recorded an A+ grade performance in nutrition delivery to women and children, alongside a series of welfare, education, tribal development and digital land administration reforms.
This was stated by the secretary to the departments of women, children, the disabled and senior citizens welfare, A Suryakumari.
She told the conference that the state achieved 96.22 per cent coverage vis-a- is providing nutritious food to pregnant and lactating women; and 97.29 per cent coverage for children through Anganwadi centres.
“Timely distribution of milk, eggs and Balaamrutham, along with continuous monitoring, has helped reduce stunting and underweight cases among children below five years.”
Suryakumari directed district collectors to ensure real-time updates in the Poshan Tracker and speed up infrastructure works in Anganwadi centres.
“Of the 13,916 sanctioned toilets, 9,209 have been completed, while drinking water facilities have been provided in 12,131 of 15,521 centres.”
She also called for completion of electrification works and faster land allotment for permanent Anganwadi buildings.
Preschool attendance in Anganwadis stands at 89 per cent and this, she said, should be increased to above 90 per cent through door-to-door enrolment drives. Recruitment of 641 Anganwadi workers, 131 mini workers and 5,325 helpers is targeted for completion by May 2026.
Suryakumari also stated that the government has achieved “100 per cent success” in preventing child marriages -- through immediate intervention on complaints received via Childline 1098 and other channels.
Social welfare secretary MM Naik said academic performance in SC and ST welfare institutions has improved significantly. Intermediate results in tribal residential institutions touched 94 per cent, while SSC pass percentage in social welfare hostels stood at 85 per cent.
He attributed the improvement to better infrastructure, RO plants, hygiene measures and improved teaching standards.
Naik said a “Net Zero Healthy Campus” pilot project has been launched in Chittoor district with solar rooftops, rainwater harvesting, waste management systems and kitchen gardens, and this would be extended to 2,997 welfare institutions across the state.
Special IIT-JEE and CUET coaching programmes have helped 184 SC and 146 ST students qualify in JEE Mains. Tribal development initiatives involving coffee, turmeric, cashew and rubber cultivation are being expanded, while 14.94 lakh people in tribal areas have been screened for sickle cell anaemia.
Minority welfare secretary Sridhar said infrastructure works worth Rs 287 crore are being implemented under PM Jan Vikas, while proposals worth Rs 1,000 crore will be submitted for 2026-27. He said 1,500 beneficiaries are being trained under PM Vikas skill development programmes.
Chief commissioner of land administration G Jayalakshmi announced the introduction of blockchain technology to secure land records and prevent tampering. She said AI tools are being used to digitise old revenue records, and a pilot blockchain project has been completed in five villages.
