SAAP chief seeks probe into Aadudam Andhra scam

AP Sports Authority chairman A. Ravi Naidu on Saturday sought a CBI inquiry into an alleged Rs 119 crore scam in the name of Aadudam Andhra.

Kurnool:AP Sports Authority chairman A. Ravi Naidu on Saturday sought a CBI inquiry into an alleged Rs 119 crore scam in the name of Aadudam Andhra.

He demanded action against former minister R. K. Roja, former SAAP chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy and former CM Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in this connection.

During his visit to the District Sports Authority Stadium in the city on Saturday, Ravi Naidu said people ousted the YSRCP government and flayed its leaders for releasing Porubata posters instead of releasing unpaid fee reimbursements. He accused them of using the issue for political gain.

The SAAP chairman also mentioned that the Jagan government had weakened the fee reimbursement scheme, leaving many students in the lurch and around 2 lakh certificates still in colleges. He assured that the DSC notification would be issued in March and advised students not to be misled by YSRCP's diversionary tactics.

He sought donors to adopt AP sportspersons, promising special recognition from the government, and shared plans for two new sports complexes in Kurnool.

He also took stock of the performance of DSA officials, progress of development works, sanitation and sports facilities and expressed dissatisfaction with the poor management of toilets in indoor stadium. He warned of action against Kurnool district sports development officer B. Bhupathi Rao and DSA staff if improvements were not made.

He assured that Kurnool would soon have top-notch sports facilities, including an ideal stadium. Kurnool MP Bastipati Nagaraju and officials accompanied him during the visit.
