Scuffle at SR Gudlavalleru College as student union leaders attempt to enter campus

Vijayawada: Tension arose at SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College on Saturday when student union leaders attempted to enter and lay siege to the campus. A scuffle broke out between police officers and student leaders as they tried to forcibly enter the college premises. The police responded by taking the student leaders into custody.
Reports later surfaced that journalists from vernacular media, who were covering an alleged video scandal, were attacked by college management staff outside the campus. This followed complaints from female students about hidden cameras being installed in the women’s hostel. In response, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
To facilitate the investigation, the college management has declared a three-day holiday for hostel students and has restricted entry to outsiders, following allegations of hidden cameras in the women's hostel washrooms.
