SDSTPS runs its inaugural Unit-3 continuously for 100 days
APGENCO managing director K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu announced that Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station (SDSTPS) has achieved a significant operational milestone, as its 800 MW Unit-3 has successfully completed 100 days of continuous operation for the first time since its commercial operation date.

Chakradhar Babu announced that Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station (SDSTPS) has achieved a significant operational milestone, as its 800 MW Unit-3 has successfully completed 100 days of continuous operation for the first time since its commercial operation date.
During the time, the unit has generated 1596.30 MU with a plant load factor (PLF) of 83 per cent.
Chakradhar Babu said APGENCO as a whole has shown improvement in thermal generation consistently by maintaining above 110 MU from January 2025, thereby meeting the grid demand. It has achieved an all-time high of 123 MU thermal generation on February 22, 2025.
"This is a testament of APGENCO team's unwavering dedication and adherence to best operational practices,” the MD stated.
He underlined that APGENCO is putting all-out efforts to adopt best practices, improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions. He said they will strive hard to be the best organisation at the national level in power generation and maintaining the highest PLF.
Chakradhar Babu congratulated all employees, engineers and support staff who are continuing to play a pivotal role in running the SDSTPS successfully.
