Set up start-ups in drones with ₹5 lakh subsidy, official tells youth

Vijayawada: AP Drone Corporation managing director K. Dinesh Kumar called upon youth aspiring to be entrepreneurs to take advantage of the state government's incentive of up to ₹5 lakh for setting up start-ups in drones.

Addressing students attending the Advanced Atal Faculty Development Programme on “A Deep Dive into Autonomous Vehicle – Theory to Practice” at Dhanekula Engineering College here on Monday, Dinesh Kumar underlined that the drone sector will become a dominant sector in the coming days, as Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu envisages to make AP the drone capital of India.

He pointed out that AP has already made significant progress with regard to drones. The state is offering a subsidy of 20 per cent to those who get into drone manufacturing. The state government is also planning to set up a drone hub at a 300-acre site in Orvakallu.

The corporation MD explained that the global drone industry is witnessing rapid changes, with significant technological improvements every day. Drones are being increasingly used to provide better services to people. Thus, he said, there are abundant opportunities in this field.

Dinesh Kumar asked technical institutions to educate students about the latest technological developments in drones.
