SEZ blast victims had no access to ambulance services: ZP chief
Visakhapatnam: The zilla parishad chairperson, Jallapalli Subhadra, on Saturday expressed disappointment that victims of Atchutapuram SEZ lacked access to ambulance services or transportation which caused them to be transported in buses.She directed authorities to engage with governmental bodies and industry owners to establish medical facilities and ambulance services in areas with industrial establishments.
She commended the doctors' handling of the victims during the Kailasapuram incident in Kotauratla mandal and Essentia Pharma incident. On Saturday, a council meeting was held at the zilla parishad meeting hall to address rural development, public welfare initiatives, financial assistance, and other pertinent topics.
Department officials presented progress reports, followed by members' inquiries and clarifications from officials. Subhadra highlighted complaints concerning distribution of benefits in tribal areas even after the election code's completion.
Officials assured the chairperson that housing schemes approved by the previous government would proceed, emphasising the need for pending housing beneficiaries to update their information. Subhadra also sought to inform ZPTC about decisions made in village councils. She recommended promotion of commercial crops, including silver oak, and cultivation of GD, pepper, and coffee crops in tribal regions.
The meeting was attended by chairman of the 5th standing committee Earle Anuradha, district-level officials from various departments, JDPTC members, and others.
