SFI demands re-NEET in rally amidst paper leak row

In response to the alleged paper leak of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), a protest rally organised by the Students' Federation of India (SFI) took place on Tuesday in Visakhapatnam.

The rally, which saw significant participation, began at the GVMC statue and proceeded to the RTC complex.
The demonstration was fuelled by the recent controversy surrounding the reported leak of the NEET exam. SFI leaders were vocal in their demands for accountability and reform within the educational testing system.
They specifically placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Union education minister, demanding his immediate resignation for the reported leak and subsequent irregularities.
Addressing the gathering, the leaders of the SFI student union articulated their lack of confidence in the National Testing Agency (NTA), the body currently responsible for conducting the NEET exams. They urged for the dissolution of the NTA, citing its repeated failures in administering the exam properly.
In a bid for a thorough investigation, the SFI leaders demanded that a retired judge be appointed to conduct an inquiry into the NEET exam irregularities. They believe that only an impartial judicial review can uncover the extent of the issues and ensure justice for the affected students.
Furthermore, the protesters proposed a significant shift in the administration of national entrance exams. They demanded that the responsibility for conducting NEET, both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG), be transferred to state governments. This, they argued, would ensure a more localised and hence more effective management of the examination process.
