Sighting of leopard creates flutter in Mahanandi
Kurnool: The reported sighting of a leopard in the Krishnanandi temple, located 6 km from the Mahanandi temple, created a flutter among local people on Thursday. People claimed to have sighted a leopard roaming near the Krishnanandi temple, which was also captured on CCTV.
Villagers also claimed to have seen another leopard near the Mahanandi temple area. However, they were unsure whether the leopards were the same or different. This is the second time that sightings of big cats in the area have created fear among locals. It is reported that a leopard has been roaming around the Mahanandi temple for the past ten days. Leopards have already been spotted near Kameshwari Devi Satram and Annadana Satram several times in the past.
Following complaints about the sighting of the leopard, forest officials have launched a search for the leopard after collecting pugmarks at the site. The forest department officials urged people to be vigilant and assured them of capturing the big cat soon.
