Six students injured in roof collapse at Kadapa school
Anantapur: At least six students suffered injuries, two of them seriously, when the roof of a private school collapsed at Akkayapalli on the outskirts of Kadapa on Tuesday.
The incident happened in the 8th class of Saibaba High School, reportedly owned by Teacher MLC Ramachandra Reddy of YSRC.
The roof collapsed even as the class had been going on in the afternoon. Six students suffered injuries after debris fell on them. Two of them received serious injuries on their heads. The other students ran out of the classroom.
The seriously injured students are being treated at a private hospital.
Education minister Nara Lokesh described the incident as sad. The district administration will take action against the management for running the school in an unsafe location, he stated.
Various students’ organisations staged a protest in front of the school demanding action against the management.
