Vijayawada: Human resources development minister N. Lokesh underlined that the main objective of conducting the skill census is to provide jobs to unemployed youth.
Addressing a review meeting at his residence in Undavalli with officials of the Skill Development department on Friday, he said that the state government will prepare a special resume of youth after gathering all details regarding their academic qualifications, their present employment status, and their skills.
Lokesh disclosed that this data will be made available to firms in search of employees, so that they could select the youth based on the skills they need. He advised officials to take suggestions from elders of the industry and job portals, so that the skill census could be conducted in an efficient manner.
The minister underlined that once the census is conducted, they will take steps to improve the skills of the youth. He explained to officials details of the app created for taking up the skill census. He instructed officials to update the app periodically.
