Sudheer Reddy detailed the Rs 50 lakh funds secured for the Srikalahasti municipality, which were used to address drainage issues and reduce flood risks

Tirupati: Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy announced that the prestigious Srikalahasti Institute of Technology (SKIT) will be merged with JNTU within the next six months. He made this announcement during a press meeting at Uranduru near Srikalahasti on Wednesday, marking 100 days of the NDA government at the state level.

At the press meeting, the MLA stated that the institution, a legacy of his late father, will soon undergo the merger process, with the government order expected to be issued shortly. “We will restore the college's former glory, aligning it with the technological advancements of JNTU,” he declared.

Sudheer Reddy detailed the Rs 50 lakh funds secured for the Srikalahasti municipality, which were used to address drainage issues and reduce flood risks. He also highlighted measures taken to tackle water shortages in rural areas, including the digging of borewells and the installation of streetlights in previously unlit villages. The MLA introduced a new approach to sanitation in every panchayat by creating WhatsApp groups for daily monitoring.

Reddy also mentioned significant changes at the Srikalahasti temple, including the removal of political banners from the main streets and an increase in temple revenue, which reached Rs 4 crore in just 100 days. He promised to boost the number of Rahu-Ketu poojas from 25,000 to 30,000, aiming to drive more revenue for the temple in the future.

MLA Sudheer Reddy emphasised that strict measures are being taken to crack down on illegal activities in the constituency, such as matka betting and marijuana trade, and assured stringent action against the culprits. He stressed that the progress of the Srikalahasti constituency can only be achieved through the continued leadership of the Telugu Desam.
