Speaker Ayyanna promises to expand Narsipatnam NTR Hospital

Visakhapatnam:A meeting of the Narsipatnam NTR Government Hospital Development Committee, attended by Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu, has decided to expand the 150-bed hospital to a 200-bed facility.

The Speaker said he would strive to obtain the necessary permissions. DCHS Srinivas, RDO Ramana, municipal commissioner Surendra, superintendent Dr Sudhasharada, and others were present.

The Speaker promised to support fundraising efforts for the hospital's development and suggested holding monthly meetings of the committee. He called for submission of details on patients referred to private hospitals over the past five years, including reasons for their referrals.

The committee decided to install a solar system for the newly constructed building and improve sanitation and patient meals.

The Speaker emphasised the need to repair and utilise the existing doctors' quarters. He promised to allocate `15 lakhs for this purpose.

The committee also decided to repair the ambulance and noted that the Anakapalle MP promised new ambulances. Acknowledging the need for a CT scan machine, DCHS Srinivas estimated the cost to be `2.5 crore. The Speaker promised to secure funds from NRIs and the government for this purpose.

Additionally, new colour bed sheets will be used for patients and the Anna canteen will provide meals for patients and their helpers.

The Speaker thanked Anakapalle collector Vijaya Krishnan for her assistance and appealed for her cooperation in developing the Anakapalle and Narsipatnam hospitals through CSR grants and NRI contributions.
