Special force to protect Sanatana Dharma: Pawan Kalyan
KAKINADA: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said on Friday that a special law for digital privacy would be enacted in the state to protect women and children from verbal abuse and physical attacks.
“AP is also establishing a special force called Jana Sena Narasimha Varadhi Ganam to protect Sanatana Dharma,” he stated at the launch of the three free LPG cylinders scheme, at IS Jagannadhapuram village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal of Eluru district.
Earlier, the deputy CM took darshan and performed special poojas at the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in the village.
Pawan Kalyan said the NDA’s prime aim was ensuring the security and safety of women and children. “The government would give three LPG cylinders to 1.08 crore women at a total cost of `13,425 crore per annum.”
He said, In order to safeguard the women and children in the state, a Digital Privacy law would be enacted soon. Stringent action would be taken against those who harass, insult or attack women at schools, public places, temples, in social media and on other platforms.
Toilet facilities would be provided in schools and residential schools and other steps would be taken to protect the dignity of women, the deputy CM said, and exhorted the temple trust board to set up CC cameras and warning boards at the temples not to cause any inconvenience/irritation to women.
Stringent action would be taken against those creating divisions in the society in the name of caste and religion and those who hurt the causes of national integrity and national sovereignty. “I respect all religions. Respecting all religions is one of the basic concepts of Sanathana Dharma,’’ he stated.
PK asked officials to lay a road to the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in IS Jagannadhapuram village. “I had visited the temple 14 years ago to pray for the goodness of the state and the country. This temple is most-powerful like the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple,” he said.
The deputy CM asked the endowment and revenue officials to restore to the temple some 50 acres of land that was encroached in the past. He also announced the sanction of `5 crore for development of the temple as also the area as a tourism spot.
Pawan Kalyan referred to the property dispute between former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the state Congress president Y Sharmila.
“Sharmila has expressed certain apprehensions about her safety and security in view of this property dispute with her brother. Our government is committed to providing security for women. We have nothing to do with the dispute, but if there is any apprehension about your security, please submit a petition to the government,” he urged Sharmila.
“We will provide you security. I will also take this matter to the notice of the chief minister,’’ he said.
Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh, housing minister K Partha Saradhi, district collector Vetri Selvi, MLAs Venkata Raju (Gopalapuram), Bolisetty Srinivas (Tadepalligudem), Bala Raju (Polavaram), Zilla Parishad chairman Ganta Padmasri, joint collector Dhatri Reddy and others were present.
