SPMVV sanctions ₹4 cr projects, starts 2 journals

Tirupati: Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) began the New Year on a high note by sanctioning research projects worth ₹4 crore and launching two journals under the Prime Minister Usha scheme.

The initiatives, aimed at fostering interdisciplinary research and academic excellence, were unveiled during a celebratory event on campus on Wednesday.
In-charge vice-chancellor Prof. V. Uma and registrar Prof. N. Rajani distributed approvals for 57 interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and inter-institutional projects to faculty members. The sanctioned projects, involving collaborations with universities like Sri Venkateswara University, Yogi Vemana University, Vikrama Simhapuri University, and Madras University, were approved after rigorous expert scrutiny.
The journals—Jyanavi, focusing on social sciences and edited by Prof. B.N. Neelima, and Gamanam, emphasising multidisciplinary studies under the editorship of Prof. N. Venkatakrishna—were also launched as part of the initiative.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Uma highlighted the importance of these projects and publications in elevating the university’s academic and research stature. “This is a significant step towards achieving greater progress and collaboration in the academic world”, she said.
