TIRUPATI: Srikalahasti is preparing for grand Maha Sivaratri Brahmotsavams, with special arrangements for devotees. The government has announced free laddu prasadam for all visitors to the Srikalahasteeswara temple, while female devotees will receive a sacred gift set including a blouse piece, bangles, turmeric, and kumkum as blessings from Goddess Gnana Prasunambika.
Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, along with Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy, Collector Dr S. Venkateswar, and SP V. Harshavardhan Raju, reviewed the festival arrangements. Minister Ramanarayana Reddy assured that the Chief Minister is committed to ensuring well-organised spiritual events.
Security has been strengthened with 1,250 police personnel, 400 CCTV cameras, drones, and a GPS tracking system for children under 14. QR codes will be used for darshan tokens to regulate crowd movement.
Devotees in queue lines will receive laddus, water bottles, and baby food. On February 27, local devotees will get free darshan and refreshments. Revenue Minister Satya Prasad directed officials to provide adequate water, sanitation, and queue lines. MLA Sudheer Reddy urged the government to extend free darshan and prasadam to all Srikalahasti residents.
Vigilance teams will be deployed to prevent child marriages, which tend to rise during festival times.
