Srikalahasti set for Maha Shivaratri celebrations on February 26
The sacred Lingodbhava Maha Abhishekam will be observed during the intervening night of February 26 and 27

Tirupati: Srikalahasti, the revered Vayulinga Kshetram famously known as Dakshina Kasi, is preparing for the grand Maha Shivaratri celebrations on February 26.
With an anticipated influx of lakhs of devotees, elaborate arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth spiritual experience for all.
The main congregation would be for the sacred ‘Lingodbhava Darshan’ on Maha Shivaratri night. The Devasthanam, in coordination with the district administration and police, has made elaborate preparations. Temporary pandals, toilets, and bathing ghats have been set up along the Swarnamukhi river for the convenience of the pilgrims.
Temple functionaries said dedicated stalls along the queue lines and within the temple premises will provide food and drinking water to the large turnout. Queue management has been meticulously planned to facilitate seamless darshan for all devotees.
The temple town has been adorned with vibrant flower decorations, colorful rangolis and illuminated LED lights, adding to the festive spirit. With an expected footfall of nearly two lakh devotees, the temple authorities will distribute water, buttermilk, and milk along the queue lines. Special attention has also been given to ensure proper sanitation.
The 13-day Brahmotsavams associated with Maha Shivaratri began on February 21 and will conclude on March 5. Cultural programmes and Vahana sevas are being held daily as part of the celebrations. On February 26, the Maha Shivaratri day, a series of special events have been scheduled, including Indira Vimanam and Chapara Seva in the morning at 10:30am. In the night, at 9:30pm, the Golden Nandi and Golden Simha Vahana Seva will take place.

Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudhir Reddy and temple executive officer Bapi Reddy have conducted multiple review meetings with district collector Venkateswar and SP Harshavardhan Raju to oversee the arrangements.
Preparations are also in full swing at the Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple in Tirupati, managed by the TTD. On Maha Shivaratri, the day will begin with Mahanyasapurvaka Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam from 2am to 4:30am, followed by Bhogiteru from 7am to 9am.
The Snapana Tirumanjanam will take place later in the day, while the Visesha Nandi Vahana Seva is set for 6pm. On February 27, the Lingodbhava Kala Abhishekam will be observed from 12am to 4am, followed by Siva Parvati Kalyanam from 6pm to 7:30pm.
