Kurnool: Preparations for the annual Shivaratri Brahmotsavam at Srisailam, scheduled from 19 February to 1 March, are underway. Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao conducted inspections on Saturday to oversee the arrangements.
Rao instructed officials to repair stairways at Pathalaganga and improve lighting at bathing ghats, dress-changing areas, and toilets to ensure safety and prevent crimes. He stressed the importance of sturdy barricades and shower facilities at key locations for the convenience of pilgrims, particularly the elderly.
He also ordered the installation of clear signboards for better navigation and called for rearranging darshan ticket counters and creating separate queue lines for the elderly, disabled, and lactating mothers. Wheelchairs will be made available for those in need.
To ensure safety, the deployment of adequate security personnel has been mandated to prevent overcrowding. Srinivasa Rao directed the staff to prepare a detailed action plan and implement it efficiently to guarantee the event's success.
