Srisailam temple readies plan for trekking devotees

Signboards in three languages placed along the trekking route to guide pilgrims, and temporary power supply provided at key junctions using generators

Kurnool: The Srisailam temple has made special arrangements for devotees planning to trek through the Nallamala forest during the Mahashivaratri Brahmotsavam.

Signboards in three languages have been placed along the trekking route to guide pilgrims, and temporary power supply has been provided at key junctions using generators.
A large number of devotees travel on foot to Srisailam during the festival. They start from Atmakur and reach Venkatapuram by road, then continue through the forest via Gosaikatta, Nagulooty, Damerlakunta, Pedda Cheruvu, Mathambavi, Bheemunikolanu, and Kailasadwaram.
The temple, with support from the forest department, has set up facilities along the trekking route. Medical camps have been arranged at several locations by the district health department.
For the convenience of devotees, tents and temporary toilets have been set up at Venkatapuram, Damerlakunta, and Pedda Cheruvu.
Water tanks have been installed at multiple points along the route with a 20,000-liter RCC tank and additional 5,000-liter tanks at Kailasadwaram. A water pipeline from Bheemuni Kolanu to Kailasadwaram has also been laid. Meanwhile, Kanipakam temple officials offered silk robes to Sri Swamy and Ammavaru on Saturday as part of the ongoing Brahmotsavam.

Further, Nandyal additional SP (admin) N. Yugandhar Babu inspected the queue lines and temple surroundings to ensure smooth darshan for devotees. He instructed officials to provide clean water and toilets in the waiting areas and to monitor queue movement to prevent overcrowding.
Devotees were advised to follow the time limit for darshan, and ambulance services were made available for emergencies. He said temple officials are taking all necessary precautions to manage the large crowds and ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for devotees attending the Brahmotsavam.
