Stampede: Naidu protecting guilty persons, says Ambati Rambabu

Vijayawada:Former minister Ambati Rambabu has criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s response to the tragic stampede in Tirupati, calling his questioning of the TTD officials “a calculated drama to shield his loyalists.”

Speaking to the media in Guntur, Rambabu alleged that the CM lacked the courage to take action against those responsible, including the TTD cairman, its EO, JEO, and the district SPs, whom he referred to as a "criminal gang" appointed by Naidu to serve his political interests.

He accused Naidu of making lower-level officials scapegoats while protecting those individuals who “prioritize political vendettas over their duties.”

Rambabu emphasized the gravity of the incident, pointing out that six devotees lost their lives due to poor planning at one of the most sacred temples in the world. He criticised the government for failing to take serious measures to prevent such tragedies from recurring.

According to Rambabu, this criminal gang has a history of suppressing dissent and engaging in malicious propaganda, including attempts to malign the temple’s sanctity with fabricated allegations about prasadam distribution.

The former minister also accused the government of orchestrating deliberate hurdles to obstruct YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to console the grieving families.
