Kakinada:The Subrahmanya Sashti festival was celebrated with great fervour at Shiva and Subrahmanya temples, attracting hundreds of devotees. Temples were filled with the sounds of "Om Namah Shivaya" and prayers to Lord Subrahmanya. Devotees performed Abhishekams and observed fasts.
Temples across towns and villages, including the famous Subrahmanya Swamy temple at Bikkavolu, Indrapalem, Bhimavaram, Kakinada, Amalapuram, Mummidivaram, and others, saw a large turnout. Devotees, dressed in traditional attire, consumed only vegetarian food, refraining from non-vegetarian items as a mark of respect.
