SVU Tirupati Signs Landmark MoU to Boost Drone and Space Tech Innovation
TIRUPATI: In a move to bolster Andhra Pradesh's technological landscape, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with industry leaders to advance drone and space technology research and innovation.
The MoU was signed on Thursday in the presence of SVU vice-chancellor Prof. Ch. Appa Rao, registrar Prof. M. Bhupathi Naidu and representatives of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).
The consortium includes firms such as RFLY Innovations Pvt Ltd, Earthnow Pvt Ltd, Aerohub Pvt Ltd, Aurantius Tech Services Pvt Ltd and Tech Services Pvt Ltd.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rao underlined the collaboration’s potential to revolutionise research and skill development. “This partnership is a pivotal step in driving research, innovation, training and skill development, benefiting students and researchers,” he said.
Varsity registrar lauded the alignment of the initiative with Andhra Pradesh’s progressive drone policy. “This MoU lays the foundation for turning AP into a global hub for drone manufacturing, research and training. It will not only boost SVU’s research ecosystem but also catalyses the state’s technological ambitions”, he remarked.
The MoU aims to advance innovation in drone and space technologies through a variety of initiatives, including establishment of DGCA-approved remote pilot training organisation certification programmes, launch of incubation programmes to nurture start-ups and innovators, and research collaborations aimed at developing next-generation drone and space solutions.
