Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 aims development beyond caste and religion: PK
VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has said the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 document has been meticulously crafted, taking into account the recommendations of numerous intellectuals.
Through Vision 2047, the state aims to achieve development beyond considerations of caste and religion, he said while participating in the 'Amara Jeevi Potti Sriramulu Atmarpana Dinotsavam at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here.
Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan jointly released a book highlighting Potti Sriramulu's sacrifices.
PK said, “Potti Sriramulu, undertook a hunger strike until death for the long-cherished dream of the Andhras to have a separate state. Sriramulu was a pivotal figure in the establishment of linguistically-based states and was a leader for the entire Andhra race, not just of a particular community or caste.”
“The best tribute we can pay to Potti Sriramulu is to achieve comprehensive development of Andhra Pradesh, making it advance towards a 2.2 trillion dollar economy.”
He remarked, “Potti Sriramulu’s greatness became evident after the bifurcation of the state. His statue cannot be found anywhere except in the Arya Vaisya community. He is not merely a leader for one caste or community but a leader respected across the country.”
Sriramulu sacrificed his life for the self-respect and existence of the Telugu people, especially during a time when the country was divided along communal lines and the establishment of linguistically based states was opposed by the national leadership under first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.”
“While Potti Sriramulu dreamed of a state for the Andhras, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao fought for the self-respect of the Telugu people. Running a political party is challenging, and formulating government policies for 50 million people is a more challenging task. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu successfully manages governance and brings it closer to the people,” PK added.
