Telugu Desam uninterested in Lok Sabha Speaker post

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu made important remarks during the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party meeting, saying that he got a call from Union home minister Amit Shah regarding the Lok Sabha Speaker election. The CM shared the summary of the phone call with the party leaders during the meeting. Naidu said, “Amit Shah called me on the election of Speaker. I said that TD does not need it. I said that the state only wants funds. The state is financially damaged. I asked for help. The people of AP believed in the alliance and gave it power.”

Naidu further said, "If we ask for posts, the interests of the state will be harmed. State interests are important to us. I will allocate three departments to each MP. You should bring the funds and schemes to the state in the respective departments. The MPs assigned to the departments should talk and coordinate with the ministers of the state concerned. Since the TD has the strength of 16 MPs in the Lok Sabha, efforts should be made to get more funds to the state. The interests of the state should be the first duty of MPs. AP means Amaravati and Polavaram. That is why these two are important for the state and they are giving first priority to them.”
