Vijayawada: A 32-year-old from was shot dead after an armed assailant opened fire at him at a supermarket in Arkansas State in USA. The deceased was identified as Dasari Gopi Krishna (32), a native of Yazali in Karlapalem Mandal of Bapatla district.
The deceased Gopi Krishna went to the US eight months ago in search of employment and was employed at a supermarket in Arkansas State.
On Saturday afternoon, an armed robber with a revolver opened fire at Gopi Krishna who was at the supermarket counter after which the robber escaped from the spot by taking a product from the store.
Gopi Krishna who was grievously injured in the gunfire was rushed to a local hospital and breathed his last on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A pall of gloom descended in Yazali village with the death of Gopi Krishna. Gopi Krishna is survived by his wife and son.
