Telugu University to be in Rajamahendravaram: Durgesh
Kakinada: Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh said efforts are being made for establishing the Telugu University in Rajamahendravaram, as the city is the right place for locating it.
Participating as chief guest at a seminar on “Andhra Pradesh – Cultural Glory” jointly organised by the AdiKavi Nannayya University College of Arts and Commerce, Andhra Pradesh Rashtra Srujanatmaka and Samskrithika Samithi, and the Centre for Andhra Pradesh on Friday, Durgesh said Andhra Pradesh has a vast repertoire of historical culture, literature and fine arts, like dramas, Pouranika and Padya natikas.
He said Padya Natakam is unique to Telugu people in the country. He called upon people, in particular literature experts, academicians, artists and others, to explain the glory of Andhra Pradesh to the world.
Rajanagaram MLA Bathula Bala Ramakrishna said the help of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, education minister Nara Lokesh and minister Durgesh will be taken for developing the AdiKavi Nannayya University. University vice chancellor Y. Srinivasa Rao said that students have been provided a very peaceful atmosphere for pursuing quality education.
Dr. Karri Rama Reddy appealed to the state government to fill up the vacant faculty posts, so that the quality of education in the university could be improved. Ch. Vijayananda Aditya, Prof. K. Sriramesh and D. Jyothirmayi were among those present.
