Three killed in separate road accidents in Kurnool
Kurnool: Three persons lost their lives in road accidents in Kurnool and Nandyal on Sunday.
At Govinda Palle village in Sirivella mandal, a car heading from Nandyal to Kurnool suffered a tyre burst and veered to the opposite lane and collide with another vehicle. Two persons died on the spot.
The deceased were retired ASI Chandrashekhar from Kurnool and Shaik Khadar from Nandyal. Both died on the spot. Two others were seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police said speeding may have caused the accident. The Sirivella police registered a case and are conducting inquiries.
In a road mishap near Adoni 2-Town police station, an auto overturned while trying to avoid a speeding bike. This resulted in the death of a woman. The victim was Mahankalamma, 50, from Bellary. She died on the spot.
According to the police, Mahankalamma was returning from a visit to the Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Tarapuram. Some other occupants of the auto received minor injuries. The Adoni police registered a case.
