Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha has directed officials to expedite TIDCO housing works and ensure completion by the end of June to enable beneficiaries to perform housewarming ceremonies without delay.
Reviewing progress with officials at the Collectorate in Vijayawada on Friday, the collector said providing housing for the poor remains a top priority of the state government. He instructed departments to accelerate construction and ensure all basic infrastructure and civic amenities are in place in the colonies.
Dr Lakshmisha said stalled works must be identified immediately and bottlenecks resolved without delay. Of the 11,520 TIDCO houses under various stages in the district, 6,576 units are located at Jakkampudi. While 2,256 houses have already been handed over, 4,320 units are pending. He directed officials to make at least 3,000 houses at Jakkampudi ready by June.
The collector also instructed officials to complete and hand over 2,000 houses in Jaggayyapeta and 672 houses in Tiruvuru by June. He stressed that construction quality must not be compromised under any circumstances.
