Tirupati: The Bangarupalem police destroyed illegal liquor seized in 24 separate cases including 6,901 liters of illicit liquor and 19 liters of country-made arrack, worth approximately Rs 48 lakh, in the Chittoor district on Friday.
The Bangarupalem police urged citizens to respect the law, act responsibly, and avoid illegal transportation of liquor, emphasising that such activities are punishable offenses.
Organ donation awareness rally today
To commemorate Indian Organ Donation Day, the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) will organise an awareness rally, which will begin at 8 a.m. from SVIMS’s Sri Padmavati Hospital to Valmiki Circle in Tirupati on Saturday.
Following the rally, an organ donation awareness programme and a felicitation ceremony for organ donors will be held at SVIMS’s Sri Padmavati Auditorium at 9 a.m.
