Tribals Seek Road to Gurralagondi Village
Visakhapatnam: The president of the Indian Confederation of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples (ICITP) in AP urged the divisional forest officer in Chintapalle to grant permission to construct a road to Gurralagondi village in Rinthada Panchayat, Gudem Kothaveedhi mandal, ASR district on Sunday.
Rama Gopal Gaduturi, president of the ICITP in AP, says, “The villagers of Gurralagondi have been facing challenges to reach other places to access essential services such as education and healthcare due to the lack of road connectivity. Despite previous efforts to construct a road, the forest department has consistently objected, citing environmental concerns.”
In his letter, Rama emphasised the villagers’ distress and the urgent need for road connectivity. He mentioned that the villagers had previously given a representation to the collector and district magistrate of ASR district, appealing for road construction.
