TTD Highlights Patriotism and Piety on Independence Day

Tirupati: At the 78th Independence Day celebrations, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer (EO) J. Syamala Rao underscored the intrinsic link between patriotism and piety. Speaking after hoisting the National Flag at TTD Parade Grounds in Tirupati, Rao emphasised that, just as devotion to the nation is a sacred duty, so too is the commitment to providing a seamless darshan experience for the thousands of devotees who visit the Tirumala temple.

Rao highlighted that TTD has consistently followed in the footsteps of India’s great national leaders, dedicating itself to the service of devotees for several decades. He mentioned ongoing reforms tailored to the evolving needs of devotees, such as limiting the SRIVANI Seva online quota to 1,000 and increasing SSD tokens to reduce waiting times. Additionally, improvements in the quality of Laddu and Anna Prasadams, as well as the provision of food and milk to pilgrims in queue lines, were noted.

To maintain Tirumala's cleanliness and greenery, enhanced sanitation measures have been implemented, along with instructions to hotels and eateries to provide quality, affordable food. These efforts aim to ensure a comfortable stay, hassle-free darshan, and a memorable experience for pilgrims. Rao urged the TTD workforce to continue providing dedicated service to enhance the institution's global reputation.

TTD additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdhary, speaking at a separate Independence Day event at the Gokulam Rest House in Tirumala, also called on staff to ensure a positive pilgrimage experience for the multitude of devotees. He reminded employees that Hindu Santana Dharma and sacred texts emphasise selfless service and sacrifice, principles that guided India's freedom fighters. Chowdhary highlighted TTD's provision of hassle-free darshan to around 85,000 devotees daily, with a commitment to further enhancing services and solidifying TTD's status as a global role model for religious institutions.
