TTD Staff Call Off Stir After Apology From Board Member

Naresh Kumar’s apology to Balaji Singh resolves two-day standoff; officials assure preventive measures.

Tirupati: The protests by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) employees came to an end on Friday after board member S. Naresh Kumar issued an apology to Balaji Singh over the recent incident at the Srivari temple’s Mahadwaram gate.

TTD employees staged demonstrations outside the TTD administrative building in Tirupati for two days, demanding action against Naresh Kumar for allegedly using inappropriate language against Balaji Singh.

Holding placards, they insisted on strict measures and sought an apology from the board member. Against this backdrop, a crucial meeting was held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday where TTD executive officer J. Syamala Rao, additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdhary, TTD board members Naresh Kumar and G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy talked with protesting employees.

Following the talks, the board members addressed the media, expressing regret over the incident. "The incident that took place the other day was unfortunate. Naresh Kumar has personally met Balaji Singh and conveyed his apology. We will ensure such incidents do not recur in the future. This was a family-like issue, and we have resolved it among ourselves through discussions," Bhanu Prakash stated.

Confirming resolution of the issue, leaders of the TTD employees’ associations said, “It was unfortunate that a board member used inappropriate language against an employee. Our employees were deeply hurt, which is why we staged a protest for two days, demanding an apology. Today, board member Naresh Kumar apologised to Balaji, and officials have assured us that steps will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Considering these developments, we are calling off our protest.”
