TTD to Initiate Development of Upamaka Temple Soon
Home Minister highlights neglect; TTD chairman assures immediate action with a comprehensive renovation plan.

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced its decision to initiate immediate steps for the development of the ancient Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Upamaka in Nakkapally mandal. The announcement came following a meeting between TTD chairman B.R. Naidu and Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita during her visit to Tirumala on Monday.
The home minister highlighted the neglected state of the temple and pointed out that although the temple, spread over five acres, was handed over to TTD in 2017, it had seen little to no developmental activity over the past five years.
Stressing the historical and spiritual significance of the temple, she urged the TTD chairman to prioritise its development and restore its former prominence. She emphasised the temple’s ancient significance and requested further renovation of the sanctum sanctorum and main deity’s shrine.
The chairman assured that the TTD would immediately focus on the temple’s development. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to initiate the necessary works without further delay. The meeting was also attended by TTD executive officer J. Syamala Rao, board member M.S. Raju and TTD chief engineer Satya Narayana.
