UGD in Banaganapalle with Rs 30.66 cr: Minister

Kurnool:Roads, buildings, and investments Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy announced the completion of Banaganapalle’s underground drainage system within two and a half years at a cost of `30.66 crore. Speaking during the Bhoomi Puja, he said the project includes 56.2 km of internal canals and a 3.6 km parallel drainage system along Jurreru Vagu.

The minister highlighted the project’s aim to improve sanitation, combat mosquito-borne diseases, and create a cleaner town. He criticised the previous administration for neglecting drainage infrastructure, which caused health hazards from clogged drains and stagnant water.

Reddy inspected the construction sites and urged officials to maintain quality while expediting the work. He also proposed situating drainage canals centrally on roads to facilitate street widening and improve accessibility.
