Union minister criticises Jagan for neglecting housing
Vijayawada: Union minister of state for rural development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar announced that the centre had accorded permission for construction of two crore houses in the country.
Speaking to media in Guntur on Saturday, he criticised the previous YSR Congress government for failing to avail centre’s support for constructing houses in the state.
Chandra Sekhar said had Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy then availed the facility, the state could have built five to six lakh houses in AP using central funds.
The union minister said the centre is granting funds under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme without imposing any curbs. He slammed the previous government for failing to utilise these funds also.
He asked the present government to take advantage of funds sanctioned by the centre under Jal Jeevan Mission for constructing projects in the state.
