Union Minister Enquires About Med Services at PHC
Kurnool: Union minister for science, technology, and earth sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh Rana, who is on a three-day tour of the district, visited the Ayushman health centre housed in a PHC at Buggalapalle village on Thursday. The Union minister arrived at the R&B guest house in Kadapa city on Wednesday night where he was greeted by collector Cherukuri Sridhar and the legislators.
During the visit, Dr. Singh enquired about the medical services provided at the health centre, details about the on-duty staffers, stock of medicines, and the number of out-patient department (OPD) registrations. He also interacted with the officials of the health department to gather more information.
Besides, the Union minister also inspected the Anganwadi centre and sought information about the nutrition provided to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and infants. He also discussed the benefits of the Central schemes with the Anganwadi staffers.
To take stock of the development in the agriculture sector, Dr. Singh visited the banana tissue culture and chamomile grove at the Buggalapalle village. It is managed by the horticulture department. He also examined natural nectar produced from solid bio-liquids and the radish crop cultivated through natural farming.
Interacting with the beneficiary of the 'Namo Drone Didi' scheme, Dr. Singh came to know more about the practice of natural farming at the grassroots. Union Minister P.S. Pankaj Dixit, PIB director Nanda Kishore Reddy, MLC Ramachandra Reddy, Jammalamadugu MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy, Kamalapuram MLA P. Krishna Chaitanya Reddy and district officials accompanied the Union minister.
