Union minister Varma Thanks Nirmala for Rs 11,440 Cr Package to VSP

Vijayawada: Union minister of state for heavy industries and steel Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, expressed his gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing a special financial package of Rs 11,440 crore for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

On Friday, the Union Minister of State, along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, met the Union Finance Minister in New Delhi to convey their appreciation for the financial package. In a statement issued later, Varma thanked Sitharaman for her support, which he believes will help the plant overcome current challenges and revitalise its operations, ensuring a profitable future for the workers and the facility.

Varma also appealed to the Finance Minister to allocate substantial funds for pending projects like Polavaram and Amaravati in the upcoming Union Budget, which would aid Andhra Pradesh in realising its vision of becoming a developed state by 2047.
