Vijayawada: Two men aged around 35 years were killed, and a woman suffered injuries when the bike on which they were riding was hit by a speeding lorry on National Highway-16 at Rajupalem village of Martur mandal in Bapatla district on Wednesday.
According to Martur police, three persons, including two men and a woman, were riding on a bike from Guntur towards Ongole when their bike was hit by a speeding lorry. Under its impact, two men were crushed to death under the rear tyre of the lorry on the spot, while the woman sustained injuries, and she was shifted to the government hospital at Guntur for medical treatment.
The deceased were identified as Gopi and Rambabu. The injured woman is the wife of Rambabu. The police booked a case, and an investigation is on.
