Vijayawada: The police arrested a man for smuggling ganja and seized 1.2 kg of the drug, worth Rs 30,000, from his possession in Tadepalli on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Bandla Prashanth, 27, a resident of Pathuru village.
Tadepalli Circle Inspector Kalyan Raju said that, based on credible information, the police arrested Prashanth, a habitual offender, while he was trying to sell ganja. They seized 1.2 kg of the drug from his possession.
He said the accused was produced before the magistrate and sent to judicial custody. The CI added that a probe is underway to identify the dealers who supplied the prohibited drug to the accused and his customers.
