Our goal is a poverty-free state: Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu

Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh- 2047 vision to be released on October 2

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that there is no room for political vendetta against its rivals during the term of the TD-led alliance government in AP. "Rather, our government will make efforts to restore the past glory to Andhra Pradesh,” he said here on Thursday.

After hoisting the national flag in the IGMC Stadium marking the 78th Independence Day Naidu said AP that was in the grip of lawlessness, destruction of institutions, corruption and land grabbing in the past five years has got back its freedom in the recent elections. “We will meet all the expectations of the people. Land, sand, wine, mine and drug mafia ruled the roost in the last five years,” he averred.

Naidu said, “We aim to build the brand AP. Simple government and effective governance is our main motto. While the central government has introduced its Viksit Bharat-2047 endeavour, AP is preparing its Vision-2047 to build a Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh by 2047. Its details will be announced to the people on October 2.”

He noted that the Centre has announced a special assistance of Rs 15,000 crore per annum for reshaping Amaravati as the state capital. Delhi has also promised to complete the Polavaram project and give a special package for North coastal Andhra and Prakasam regions, he stated.

“We will soon discuss the bifurcation issues with Telangana. All the promises made to the people during electioneering will be implemented. Due to inefficient rule, the capita income oa AP has fallen to 9.5 per cent from 13.2 per cent. Inflation rose beyond imagination. We aim to achieve a growth rate of 15 per cent," he added.

The chief minister said the government is very keen on achieving the goal of zero poverty. Efforts are being made to bring investments to the state, which would also create more job opportunities, he said.
