Visakhapatnam MP calls for widespread investigation into temple incidents
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam MP, Sribharat, has demanded a thorough investigation into whether similar incidents to those in Tirupati have occurred at other temples in the state. He expressed concerns about the decline in the state under YSRC rule and urged for its restoration.
Referring to a recent National Dairy report on Tirupati laddu, Sribharat pointed out that the laddu's fat content was found to be higher than that of pure ghee in five separate tests.
He raised questions about the use of palm oil and other low-quality oils in Tirupati prasadam and questioned why Nandini Dairy pure ghee was discontinued during the YSRC regime.
At a press conference on Friday, Sribharat emphasised the need for YSRC government leaders to address these concerns, noting that people are demanding a CBI probe.
He suggested that further tests would reveal more information and alleged that the previous government had made mistakes and covered them up.
Regarding the Central government’s stance, Sribharat criticised its subservience to the state government. He mentioned that the Centre had allocated Rs 500 crore to the steel plant and highlighted the Union steel minister’s focus on the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Additionally, he praised the efforts of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority to address pollution by constructing additional godowns to reduce the issue of flying coal.
