Vizag MP highlights unequal budgeting for Tribal universities

Sreebharath called for the immediate release of funds allocated for Andhra University (AU) in Visakhapatnam, noting the delay of Rs 150 crore for the first phase of development and the ongoing efforts to secure an additional Rs 400 crore for the second phase

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam MP Sreebharath has raised concerns about the unequal distribution of budgetary resources between tribal universities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Speaking in Lok Sabha, he underscored the critical need for sufficient funding to support these specialised institutions in fulfilling their educational missions.

Sreebharath called for the immediate release of funds allocated for Andhra University (AU) in Visakhapatnam, noting the delay of Rs 150 crore for the first phase of development and the ongoing efforts to secure an additional Rs 400 crore for the second phase. He also highlighted the significance of Andhra Pradesh Central University and the Central Tribal University in advancing regional and tribal education.

Established under the Andhra Pradesh Partition Act, these institutions face unique challenges that require targeted financial support to achieve their educational goals. The MP also stressed the importance of improving facilities at the Central Tribal University.
