Vizag: Two Students Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances
Visakhapatnam: Two students from Visakhapatnam region were found dead under suspicious circumstances, prompting police investigations.
In Akkayapalem, 13-year-old Arush Aman reportedly died by suicide at his grandparents' home. Police suspect addiction to horror movies and online gaming as contributing factors. A case has been registered.
In ASR district, 10-year-old Vanthala Manoj, missing for two weeks, was found dead. Although police identified the body by his uniform, Manoj's parents dispute this. Investigations are ongoing.
Detergent spill injures pharma worker's eye
Visakhapatnam: Manishankar (29), a cleaner at a pharmaceutical company in Parwada mandal, Anakapalli district, suffered an eye injury when liquid detergent accidentally spilled into his eye while mopping the floor. He was admitted to LV Prasad Hospital in Visakhapatnam and is now recovering after discharge.
Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha clarified that the incident was unrelated to pharma chemicals and involved only detergent.
CITU District Vice President Gani Shetty criticised the frequent accidents in the pharmaceutical industry, citing multiple deaths this year. He demanded a comprehensive safety audit and strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent such incidents. Shetty urged the government to hold negligent management accountable and ensure worker safety in the industry.
Three dead, two injured in Srikakulam road accident
Visakhapatnam: Three family members, including two women, died, and two others were injured in a car accident near Peddakojjiria Junction in Srikakulam. The car, en route to Odisha, lost control and hit a cement electric pole due to over-speeding and driver fatigue.
The deceased were Kadirisetti Someswara Rao, (48), M. Lavanya, (43), and Sneha Gupta, (18). The injured are receiving treatment at Sompeta hospital. Officials have launched an inquiry.
Ministers Kondapalli Srinivas and Kinjarapu Atchannaidu extended condolences and directed enhanced medical care for the injured.
