Vizag will be an AI hub, says Nara Lokesh
Visakhapatnam: Human resource development, IT and electronics minister and national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Nara Lokesh on Thursday announced plans to develop Visakhapatnam as an AI hub.
“The goal is to make Visakhapatnam a leading city in the world in Artificial Intelligence,” he said. Lokesh, who visited Visakhapatnam for the first time after taking charge as a minister, appeared in 12th additional district court here in connection with a defamation case .
After the court hearing, Lokesh announced he is fighting a legal battle against a newspaper for writing lies against him. Lokesh said the case has been adjourned to October 18 as the cross-examination is yet to be completed.
Speaking in this context, he said, "Until today, I am paying my bills and expenses, and I will not put that burden on the government. Even now, I am paying the fuel cost of my vehicles. I am staying in the TD’s district office.”
Asked when his name would be announced as the in-charge minister of Visakhapatnam district, Lokesh stated, “The decision is in the hands of the Chief Minister and he will soon decide on the matter.” Lokesh said special attention would be paid to Gajuwaka, Bheemili, and Mangala Giri as people gave a thumping majority to TD in these constituencies.
He claimed the previous government wasted Rs 500 crore of public money on buildings in Rushi Konda. He mentioned that decisions about the usage of these buildings are still pending and will be reviewed by the Chief Minister.
