Vizianagaram Police Arrest Four in Kidnapping Case

Visakhapatnam: The Vizianagaram district police have successfully rescued a prominent property owner and arrested four individuals in connection with a kidnapping case in Sringavarapukota mandal of Vizianagaram district, district superintendent of police Vakul Jindal revealed details to the media during a press conference held on Wednesday.

The victim, Dantuluri Venkata Surya Narayana Raju from Kottam village was kidnapped from his residence on October 28 by individuals posing as police officers. The kidnappers later contacted the victim’s family demanding a ransom of Rs 4 lakh, threatening to kill him if the demands were not met.

According to police, the breakthrough in the case came during a routine vehicle checking at Usiri junction on Wednesday morning, leading to the arrest of four suspects and the safe rescue of Suryanarayana Raju.

The investigation revealed that the mastermind behind the kidnapping was Kasireddy Raju, a resident of Kommadi area in Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam, who had known to the victim for nearly two decades. The SP said that Kasireddy Raju, facing financial difficulties, orchestrated the kidnapping along with his two sons Praveen and Sai, and four others.

“The accused, aware of the victim’s substantial property holdings, planned and executed the kidnapping under the guise of a police investigation,” the SP said.

“While four suspects are now in custody, we are actively pursuing three more individuals involved in this crime,” he added.

The case came to light when the victim’s son-in-law, Kakarlapudi Siva Prasad, filed a complaint at S. Kota police station on October 29, prompting an immediate investigation led by sub-inspector Bhaskara Rao.
