VMC Chief Checks Arrangements for Seaplane Trial Run

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra on Tuesday instructed the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the seaplane trial run to be conducted at the Babburi Grounds on the premises of Punnami Ghat on November 9.

The VMC chief discussed various arrangements including drinking water, temporary toilets, and installation of LED screens at different locations in the city. AP Maritime Board CEO Praveen Aditya, sub-collector K. Chaitanya, additional commissioner (projects) D. Chandrasekhar and chief engineer R. Srinath Reddy were present.

NRT Icon Tower building in Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) governing body has agreed to construct the NRT Icon Tower building in Amaravati within two years. The decision was made at its fourth governing body meeting chaired by newly-appointed chairman and MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas in Velagapudi on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the APNRTS decided to establish special courts for NRIs to address issues related to property, civil matters and marital disputes, as well as district-level special cells to address these issues.

Police prevent man’s suicide bid

The Tirupati district police prevented a 50-year-old man from taking the extreme step late on Monday night at Yerpedu. The control room received a WhatsApp message from one Bhaktavatsalyam Reddy, stating that his relative Koduru Subrahmanyam Reddy left home with intentions of harming himself.

Upon receiving the complaint, the control room identified the man’s phone location and alerted the Yerpedu police station. They found Koduru near his farmland and handed him over to his family. SP L. Subba Rayudu commended the control room, cyber police, and Blue Colts team for their teamwork in saving a life.
