Naidu tells Telugu voters to back BJP

Chief minister, other TD ministers campaign for BJP in national capital

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called on the Telugu people in the national capital to vote for the BJP in the assembly elections to turn Delhi into a global city on par with New York and Washington.

The chief minister was among those who participated in the BJP-NDA campaign in New Delhi on Sunday.

The others were central civil aviation minister minister Ram Mohan Naidu, rural development minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, AP deputy speaker Raghurama Raju, Telugu Desam and BJP MPs and others. Naidu campaigned in Shahdara in support of BJP candidate Sanjay Goyal.

Naidu said that the present Delhi looked like Hyderabad in 1995. “If there was a double-engine government in Delhi, it would have helped the national capital outwit Washington and New York. Along with environmental pollution, political pollution has also increased in Delhi,” he said.

He said, “Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy built a palace at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam, but the people brought down the government in the elections before the palace’s housewarming. Similarly, Aravind Kejriwal built Seeshmahal in Delhi. I urge Delhiites to pull down the AAP sircar and hand over power to the BJP to ensure both development and welfare.”

Naidu flayed AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for the “pathetic condition” of Delhi. He said, “Despite being in power, the AAP government failed to develop Delhi and turned it into the world’s most-polluted city. Earlier Biharis used to migrate to Delhi for employment. Now, due to the absence of development in Delhi, they are flocking to the southern states for work.”

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleansed Ganga and this is another reason why power in Delhi state should shift to the BJP, which would now cleanse the Yamuna too from pollution,” he stated.
