We will rebuild AP: Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the brand Andhra Pradesh is now making faster strides forward.
"We are moving ahead with the 'Build AP' slogan and we are firm in encouraging the construction sector that was completely demolished in the last five years," Naidu said on Friday, adding that the state would be converted into a green hydrogen hub.
Addressing the builders after inaugurating the NAREDCO Property Show show in Guntur, the chief minister said, “We have begun rebuilding the state immediately after coming to power seven months ago."
He recalled the launch of works for the `2.8 lakh crore in AP by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this week and said, "Investments are slowly coming to the state now with Brand AP image."
The CM hoped tourism would pick up so that the state's revenue will grow in all sectors. “Only then will the real estate sector too grow as over 40 lakh families are depending on this.” Pointing out that the free sand supply system has been launched by the TD-led state government, he said, “We have provided the right to everyone to question if free sand is not supplied to them.”
Naidu said the share of real estate in the GDP is 7.3 per cent. He expressed the confidence that it would grow by 20 per cent by 2047 to reach the $5.8 trillion mark. “If all sectors grow simultaneously the living standards of the people also will increase,” he said.
Stating that the previous government has missed even TDR bonds, the chief minister said stringent action would be taken against corruption and irregularities while the innocents will be protected. "We are now launching works by attracting ‘4 lakh crore investments in the last seven months. As a result of this, four lakh people will get employment. We have set a target of providing 20 lakh jobs in these five years," he said.
Naidu said the Amaravati works would be resumed with an investment of `50,000 crore. “This is a self- sustaining project. Assets are generated where real estate flourishes.”
He said a ring-road has been designed around Amaravati to an extent of 183km, which would be far bigger than Hyderabad’s Outer-Ring-Road that he had built as CM. "Once this is complete, Guntur and Amaravati will be merged," he said.
Pointing out that a waste-to-energy plant was set up in Guntur and that it functioned well, the CM claimed, “Amaravati will create a record of sorts in the country.”
While the new city will be developed as the best model city, the cities like Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Nellore, Kurnool and Tirupati too will be developed in a similar manner.
