Kakinada: The West Godavari police has identified the body found in a parcel box recently as of Barre Parlayya (45) of Gandhnagar in Kalla Mandal of West Godavari district.
The family members of the deceased identified the body on Monday. In the Postmortem report, it was found that Parlayya was strangled to death.
SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi told Deccan Chronicle, on the basis of investigations, that the murder-accused is Sridhar Varma. He and his first wife Rani hired Parlayya and took him to their farmland of 1.71 acres to clean the area. Later, Varma took Parlayya by bike from the farmland.
The police teams have begun the investigations on the identity of the body, after it was found in a parcel at a home at Yendagandi village of Undi mandal.
The police would send DNA of the deceased’s wife and his two sons and also his brother, for tests, to get complete evidence.
The SP said that the signature of the letter found in the parcel along with the body matched with the writing of “Jayalakshmi’’, another living partner of the accused Sridhar Varma.
He said that on the day the parcel came, Varma and Jayalakshmi suspected to have fled from the area in a red car, whose licence plate was a fake one. Police suspect that the accused planned the murder and escaped soon after the incident.
