Will revive panchayat system in AP: Pawan

VIJAYAWADA: Stating that he would work with a strong will to revive the panchayat raj system which was completely destabilised by the previous YSRC government, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan sought the cooperation and suggestion of the government employees to make panchayat raj system in Andhra Pradesh the best in the country.

“The government systems had completely collapsed during the previous YSRC regime. It is not a simple thing to put them back in order. Although I will work diligently with full resolve, I alone cannot complete and I need your support,” Kalyan told the panchayat raj employee union leaders who met him at his camp office on Tuesday.

Pointing out that the previous government scared the employees, the Deputy Chief Minister urged the employees to cooperate with the government in repairing the systems, “It is the time for all of us to work in tandem and ensure that the people receive all services from the government.”

Reminding the employees that they are the backbone of the government, Kalyan assured them that he would take responsibility for solving all of their problems. “Besides bringing the problems to my notice, an amicable solution to the problem should be suggested by the employee unions,” said Kalyan.

On the occasion, the employee union leaders submitted a representation regarding the various problems being faced by them to the Deputy Chief Minister and urged him to resolve them.

The employees urged the government to pay salaries on the first of every month and immediately sanction all the pending retirement benefits to retired employees. They also urged the government to provide the GPF loans, wages for the surrender leaves, medical reimbursement, release all pending DA arrears and appoint the 12th PRC commissioner and adequate staff.
