Will Tour Kadapa District for Congress Victory If By-Polls Are Held: Revanth Reddy
Vijayawada: Foreseeing a by-election for the Kadapa Lok Sabha segment, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has promised to rebuild the Congress party and said he would tour every village in Kadapa district to ensure Congress victory in the home district of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Stating that the Congress would play the role of opposition in AP, Revanth Reddy said the BJP (“B for Babu, J for Jagan, and P for Pawan”) now ruled Andhra Pradesh as the three parties have “directly and indirectly” tied up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Participating in the 75th birth anniversary celebrations of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy at the CK Convention Centre in Mangalagiri, Revanth Reddy said the late chief minister left an indelible mark in the hearts of the people through his pro-poor governance.
Revanth Reddy said, “Despite the Congress lacking formidable support in AP, YSR has a sea of admirers in AP.”
APCC chief YS Sharmila said, “My father believed that prosperity and development of the nation could be achieved only through the Congress party. My father staunchly opposed the BJP for its religion-oriented politics.”
“Today, those who are claiming to be the real heirs of my father are supporting the BJP, ignoring the very aspirations of YSR,” she said.
Several veteran Congress leaders, along with Telangana’s Congress ministers, participated in the event and fondly recalled their association with the late YSR.
